Who is really responsible for your spiritual growth?

While every believer thinks that their spiritual growth is totally dependent on others the Word of God gives us a different picture. Yes, we need others to grow - the church, the pastor, those who we think are more knowledgeable than us, the elder brother or sister that has "been through the road" etc., Ultimately it all depends upon us. The Apostle Peter put it this way "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." 2 Peter 3: 18. If we have been in church for quite sometime or maybe even new in the Lord, we should bear in mind that our growth will depend upon our personal response to the Lord Jesus Christ, the promptings of the Holy Spirit and our obedience to the Word of God.
